We know this is a worrisome time for everyone and we want you to know that we are taking it very seriously. But no doubt you want to know what steps we are taking to protect our employees and our clients, so below is a summary of just some of the precautions we are taking:
- All of our employees have received both initial doses of the Messenger RNA vaccine and the booster jab!
- Of course one of the best ways to stop the spread of viruses or germs is to simply clean frequently touched surfaces and objects (e.g., tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet handles) using a regular household detergent and water. This is one of the reasons you hired Cooperative Cleaning in the first place! But now if requested, Cooperative Cleaning is also prepared and supplied to apply the same disinfectant product used in Bay Area hospitals as an extra precaution. Just let us know what your wishes are.
- Our employees will stay home when they are sick (except to get medical care of course). Employees who feel well and come to work, but then begin to feel ill while at work, regardless of location, will be sent home, until the nature of the illness can be determined and they are well again. In addition, all other members of the sick employee’s team will also be immediately excused from work until we know the nature of the illness.
- Upon entering a client’s home, all employees are double-masked, wear face shields, don single use shoe covers, wash their hands and don new single use exam gloves.
- Our employees will avoid close contact (i.e., six feet or less is close) with all clients. Of course not all coughs or sneezes are due to illness. Often, they are merely an allergic response to dust (which we are constantly cleaning) or other environmental factors. Nevertheless, in an abundance of caution, all employees will cover coughs and sneezes with their arms or tissue, and then wash their hands.
- And finally, keep in mind that there is an opportunity (silver lining?) here. Now, if you’re like a lot of our other clients, working from or just staying at home constantly, is driving folks just a little stir crazy! So what a lot of our clients do while we clean is to go outside for a stroll through their neighborhood, thus getting a little exercise and a break from being cooped up all the time. What’s more, if you leave your windows open while we are cleaning, not only are any airborne agents removed from your home, thus keeping you and us safer, but the house is freshened, especially now that the air is so much cleaner!
Keep Calm and Carry On (Safely!)
